JUST4FUN Ultimate Carnival Experience Road Rules 2K11

This year Just 4 Fun creates a unique and rewarding Carnival experience with something different for every reveller. Just4Fun —- WE TAKING THE STAGE and ROAD!!!!!

The NEXT ADVENTURE begins by providing our revellers the opportunity to redefine their carnival experience. Like the Phoenix, we leave the past behind and start anew…

brilliant and in search of the next great adventure. We are then swept away to the captivating Middle East, where women are known for their sultry beauty……..however, in true J4F spirit, we have freed these women and allowed them to dominate…. wait you’ll see. We continue the journey to India, where the women are also dominated by their male counterparts, here though, their voices are unmistakable. We are then inspired by the Ancient Greek and the women who rule. We then travel to Atlantis rediscovered and once known for affluence beyond measure. From there we discover Macchu Picchu acclaimed for its cultural diversity and beauty. Talking about majesty and beauty, we are called back to the mother land of Africa in search of the rear, majestic and highly sort after Black Diamond. Revellers as you tire and wane from the excitement of this journey, you will be invited to reinvigorate yourself as we drink from Caribbean waters in the Fountain of Youth.

Rules For The Road

NO FIGHTING WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE BAND. THE REVELLER WILL BE ESCORTED OUT OF THE BAND FOR THE REST OF THE CARNIVAL PARADE

Identification (ID) Wristbands Security

This year Just4Fun security team has been strenghten to ensure your safety. We seek your cooperation is creating a safe environment. Just4Fun security is present in the band primarily for your safety and protection. Please feel free to approach them for any assistance you may require. To ensure your comfort and safety, they have also been instructed to escort all non-masqueraders from the section/band. Again, do not encourage any non-masqueraders to enter the band. Stay within the band’s boundaries.

Departure

Just4Fun departure time will be at 10:00am on both days of Carnival in position #1. Revellers are expected to be at the departure point Choc Estate near Caribbean Cinemas one hour prior to agreed time. Late starters will need to arrange to join up with the band along the parade route

The CDF has an emergency response plan in place. To allow passage of an ambulance through the band:

The music will be shut off
Masqueraders and vehicles will be asked to move to the side of the road

Masqueraders are generally free to roam the band, but at thejudging point on the Parade Route, MASQUERADERS MUST GET INTO AND STAY IN THEIR SECTIONS. We are asking for your co-operation as Just4Fun want to show off the true beauty of our masqueraders and the band to the judges and to the world!

B A R S

You can indulge yourself in any of our well stocked premium bars located throughout the band with the exception of our VIP Sections (unless you are registered in them). However, please note the following:-

This year Just4Fun is making it even more enjoyable on the road. In recent years, the growth of the band has meant that some new revellers do not fully appreciate the NEVER CLOSE BAR CONCEPT that we introduced when we started Just4Fun. The drinks are meant for the enjoyment of our revellers and by giving non-revellers drinks we are denying our fellow Just4Fun revellers their fair share of drinks.

The JUST4FUN REVELLER MUG will be given to each registered Just4Fun reveller. This along with your Just4Fun wrist band will ensure that we can continue to deliver our NEVER CLOSE BAR POLICY.

The Just4Fun wristband and Just4FUN MUG must be worn in order to obtain drinks from any Bar.

No drinks will be given to anyone without a Just4Fun wristband and Just4Fun Mug.

Our observer team has been mandated to look out for members supplying drinks to non-masqueraders. Please avoid embarrassment!!

Giving drinks to non-masqueraders constitutes improper use of your wristband and it will be revoked by Just4Fun Security Personnel.

The drinks at the bar are for you, our masqueraders…and no one else! One drink given away to non-masqueraders is one drink less for one of our paying masqueraders, or even yourself. We urge you to be considerate.

The REVELLER MUG is as important as your J4F Wrist Band. You should make every effort to ensure that you have on both days for the ROAD. The drinks truck crew have been instructed not to serve persons drinks without the REVELLER MUG.

REVELLERS MUST HAVE THE JUST4FUN MUG ON BOTH MONDAY AND TUESDAY.

Food

Our J4F Meals on Wheels concept will be back on the road this year, serving hot and tasty foods all along the route. Due to security concerns, our food trucks will not be going pass the Castries market into the city circuit. Revellers will have full access to the truck from Saigcor building at Choc to the market steps. Your J4F wristband will contain the food and snack chits required to access the food trucks. Please take care to store your chits in a safe location.

Lunch and Snacks will be provided for you on both days of Carnival.

The food chits are located on the Just4Fun wristband. Your meal chits can be tendered at the food trucks for Lunch and Light Snack.

Mobile Restrooms

“Cause you’ll need it with so much to drink!” These will be located just to the back of the band and are available to all masqueraders. These will be cleaned and refreshed frequently.

Cool Zone

At Carnival 2k8, Just4Fun introduced something new to the St. Lucia Carnival – The Just4Fun COOL ZONE. We are the pioneers of the Mobile Blue water Cool Zone… look out for it when the scorching sun starts to blaze down on you shoulders and back! Just remember, feathers don’t like water……

Souvenirs & Essentials

We always think of you and what you’ll use for carnival. Everyone receives a Just4Fun souvenir pack which is filled with goodies and carnival essentials provided by Just4Fun and its sponsors. Hope you enjoy!

Roaming Photographers

Our professional photographers & Videographers will be present on both days of Carnival exclusively in our Band to capture you and your friends on film. They will be on hand to capture memories of your great carnival experience. Don’t hesitate to ask them for a snap-shot

Revellers please refrain from climbing on walkovers & road dividers. Failure to comply with this rule could result in revellers being expelled from the band for the safety of themselves and others.

Carnival Tips

Be extremely careful around all parade vehicles e.g. music trucks, bar trucks etc.

Wear comfortable sneakers.

Also, cut all toe nails before taking to the road. We suggest you wear a ½ size bigger than what you would normally wear, so you can ‘chip’ to the music all day long.

Sun block is your saviour, use it well and take it with you to re-apply as often as necessary. Apply on all exposed body parts (nose, cheek bones, ears, forehead, shoulders, back, neck, arms)

Use Chap Stick or Lip Balm.

Sun glasses always come in handy.

Leave your valuables at home, e.g. expensive jewellery.

Only carry necessary cash on you, e.g. “vex money”.

Always wear your pouch to the front.

Always move around in groups.

Arrange a specific meeting point with your friends within the band in case you get lost, e.g. the right side of the second DJ truck.

Remember there are hundreds of masqueraders in costume and you may get separated at least once.

Drink lots of water throughout the day to avoid dehydration.

Do not accept drinks from strangers, only trust Just4Fun bartenders.

Be sure to not mix medication with alcohol.

Drink responsibly.

Do not drink and drive.
